Freshman Orientation
 |
Welcome to Vernon
College (VC). This
orientation is designed
to provide you with
general information
about the college and
the services available
to students while they
are enrolled with VC.
There are four major
publications that you
should have in your
possession during your
enrollment with VC. They
are:

General Catalog
-The
General
Catalog
provides students with general information about the college calendar,
registration information, cost of attending, financial aid, and general
and academic regulations. The Catalog
also contains outlines for suggested transfer curriculum for those
students planning on transferring to a four-year college or university.
Additionally, the
Catalog
contains an outline of required courses for all of the degrees and
certificate programs offered at VC. In the back of the
Catalog you
will find a course description for all of the credit courses taught by
VC. The course description tells you what topics are covered in a
particular course, lists the prerequisites for the course (if any), and
lets you know if the course has a lab fee or special fee associated with
it. If you do not have a Catalog
you can obtain a copy by contacting the registrars office at (940)
552-6291 ext.: 2207 or
sdavenport@vernoncollege.edu. The
General Catalog is
published on a yearly basis, and new editions are printed and available
by July of every school year. You may also
view the Vernon College catalog online.

Student Handbook
-The
Student Handbook covers issues
pertaining to enrolled
students' rights and
responsibilities. The
Student Handbook
provides students with
information on academic
issues, college
admissions and records,
administrative and
instructional services
(i.e.: bookstore,
library, computer
facilities), financial
aid services and student
services.
Services for students
enrolled at VC are described in detail in the
Student Handbook. If you do not have a
Student Handbook
you may obtain a copy by contacting the student services office at (940)
552-6291 ext.: 2249 or

printed and available for distribution in August of each year. You may
